The Year 7 team has been enjoying a successful first season in the secondary schools league and continued on the winning track by beating Rookwood. Harrow Way was disadvantaged in height against a tall Rookwood side, however, were more disciplined in their passing and spatial awareness on the court.
Jess Wilson once again took control of the centre court. She used her speed well and is getting better and better each game. Lydia Moulding started in the wing attack position as opposed to goal attack and slotted in quite nicely and worked well with Jess; both players feeding the shooters, Ellie Platt and Anna-Leigh Brookes well. Ella Howells and Bethany Collyer-Smith had their work cur out playing against a very tall goal attack, but they managed to control her very well and cut down her scoring opportunities.
Harrow Way made several substitutions allowing Kyroz Van Patten and Ellie Roche to come into the court. They kept the momentum going and the team never really looked in too much trouble.
Overall, a good team performance who should be pleased at the way they have developed in one season. Well done!
Thank you to Mrs McLachlan and Mrs Longshaw for helping to umpire.
