You will be aware that the government announced that all children aged 12 to 15 in England will be offered one dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19 vaccination, following advice from the UK’s chief medical officers.
We have been given further information today on the vaccine rollout and they would like to go ahead on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th September to tie in with the Flu vaccinations.
As Headteacher, I want our parents to know that the school will simply be used as a location to deliver the vaccines and will not be involved in any of the decisions made. Parental consent will be sought by the NHS and any queries or concerns that parents have with the vaccine rollout should be referred to health professionals.
Students in Years 8-11 will be given letters and forms tomorrow to be completed by parents to either give or refuse consent and these must be returned to school by Friday 24th September.
As flu immunisations will also be carried out next week, if you have not already done so, consent may be given here.
