On Thursday 15th March thirty year 9 students went to the Naval Dockyard at Portsmouth to attend a Key Stage 3 Revision day on Forces and Motion at Action Stations. The day started with a demonstration which featured a home-made hover chair and moved on to a lesson involving Newton’ s Third Law of Motion and a practical where our students made their own water powered jet boats.
After lunch the class moved on to the demonstration area where they were able to take part in white-water rafting, rock climbing, helicopter flying and many other activities. The afternoon flew by very quickly and the party made its way back to Andover clutching their jet boats. It is rumoured that Christian who won the competition for best jet boat was still playing with it in his bath that evening.
