Five Year 2 Tri Golf teams from Appleshaw St Peter’s, Portway Infant and Knights Enham Infant Schools all had a fabulous time at the recent Harrow Way Year 2 Tri Golf Festival, the last Harrow Way event in National School Sports Week. In its third year, the Festival is firmly on the school calendar and is always enjoyed by everyone who takes part. Knights Enham Year 2 so enjoyed themselves they were already asking “When can we come back?”!
Lead by experienced Year 7 Tri Golfers, Emily Francis-Pollin, Jasmin Rose, Maddie Weeks, Katie Roche, Hannah McCague, Nayana McGee, Gemma Harper, Fletcher Burbidge and Shannon Allen, the festival ran smoothly from start to finish. Nayana started off by leading the ‘Tim says’ warm up superbly, and everyone helped lead a team or officiate the five putting and chipping games.
Excellent golf was played by all, and with more Tri Golf being played in schools, the standard just gets better and better! Well done to all the players!
The Gold Medal winners, who lifted the cup high, were Appleshaw St Peter’s with the Portway Putters in Silver Medal position. Winning Bronze Medals were Knights Enham Eagles, Knights Enham Birdies and Portway Chippers.
Miss Sturges would like to say a huge thank you to all the teams, the Year 7 leaders and Svend Hunter who joined the Festival on work placement.
