Following an Inter-Cricket session with Hampshire Community Coach, Chris Wheeler, twenty one boys were keen to be picked to play in the Mountbatten SSP Inter-Cricket competition. Unfortunately only eight could be chosen. Ben Cox and Robbie Taylor, who play District Cricket, accompanied the team of Adam Bourner (Captain), Dylan Patel, James Phillips, Charlie Donnelly, Ollie Stillwell, Ollie Patching, Owen Woodley and Brandon Baron-Duff. They were there to support the team (and Miss Sturges!) as coaches. They also impressed the organiser, Rob Cook, with their umpiring and scoring. Not an easy job as Robbie will tell you!
Well done to the team who were excellently captained by Adam. 77 runs in the first match against Test Valley and 66 in the second against Rookwood. This was not enough to get them through to the next round of the competition but it has inspired them to play more cricket outside of school! If anyone else is interested in joining Andover Cricket Club then please see Ben or Robbie; Adam and Ollie Patching attend Amport Cricket Club and can help you out with their club times.
