Six Year 10 students recently spent a fantastic morning fishing. Some were new to the sport (like Mrs Salmon, surprisingly enough!) and some were quite experienced, but all had a lot to learn from experienced angler Mr Baxter. Mr Baxter loved the morning and was very proud of all the students. His best line from the morning was as he was supporting Liam land his 5lb carp: ‘I haven’t been this excited since Wigan won the FA Cup!’ Liam said he has caught bigger fish, however, this one put up the toughest fight: ‘That fish fought like mad!’
Adam did not experience the same initial luck as EJ. However, after finally catching his first fish, the largest perch of the day, he decided he was: ‘Happy!’ EJ’s opinion of fishing changed throughout the morning but she decided her final statement should be: ‘I think I am starting to like fishing now!’
Matt and Connor proved very successful, catching more than 10 fish between them, while Jack enjoyed the peace and calm of the lakeside. Mr Baxter’s aim is for success to be Jack’s next week!
Every one of the students was a credit to themselves and the school.
