On Wednesday 6th May all students are taking part in an election at the school to see who they would vote for if they were eligible to vote in the general election on Thursday 7th May.
The idea is to get students engaged in politics – studies have shown that 50% of 18 – 24 year olds do not vote and we want to try and address this. All this week they are having a special assembly and are watching and discussing the party political broadcasts of the main parties (Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem, UKIP and Green parties) in tutor time.
Please support us by discussing the election and politics at home. However, we have told the students that they should make their own minds up about who to vote for!
The result will be announced on Friday 8th May.
Thank you for your support. If you have any comments or questions then feel free to contact me,
