On Friday 7th November, the Year 11 BTEC Drama students performed ‘Shakespeare at War’ as part of this years Shakespeare Link Project. Year 11 students gave up their half term and a week of after school rehearsals in order to prepare this performance. The show was co-directed by Kirsty Cox, a professional actor, who also ran workshops for all year 9 students this week.
The show was set in the trenches of World War One, and depicts a soldier writing a letter home. The soldier uses the works of Shakespeare to make sense of the senseless and express his thoughts on death and war.
The show will be performed to Primary schools on the 11th November.
