Another very successful Calshot trip has now concluded. 60 year 8s (the biggest Calshot trip ever!) spent the week at Calshot Activities Centre taking part in a full-on programme of adventure activities.
Thursday and Friday had all 8 groups finishing their own rotations of activities – with everyone getting, amongst other activities, their 2nd session of climbing and track cycling on the indoor velodrome and a session of archery too. Three of the four evenings were spent on a rotation of evening activities – a ‘Competition Evening’, an orienteering exercise and a problem-solving crossword + ‘ringo’ session on the ski slope. Thursday evening was spent getting the final one of these activities completed – followed by everyone sitting down to watch the England game on TV.
Friday morning saw the final block of activities, followed by lunch, a farewell talk from the centre and goodbyes to the instructors – then the coach trip back to Harrow Way.
All students are to be congratulated on their behaviour during the week – everyone joined in with every activity, challenged themselves to try their best at new experiences and were a credit to the school with their conduct during both organized activities and during ‘off’ time – mornings, evenings and overnight!
Our photo gallery of the trip has now been expanded to include photos from Thursday and Friday – so do check it out. We hope parents have had children with both good stories to tell and a desire to sleep heavily over Friday night returned to them!
