On Tuesday the 10th May in the sports hall, Harrow Way hosted the annual Tri Golf Tournament for year 5 pupils. The event began with the children (from Portway and Appleshaw schools) doing a short warm up before splitting into their teams.
They participated in different activities run by Harrow Way’s Leadership Academy. Miss Holton, the Leadership Academy manager, said “the activities were designed to test various skills in golf such as chipping, putting, aiming and control but of course for the pupils to have fun!†By the time the event finished, the children were very worn out but still enthusiastic.
“It was really fun and I would love to do it again!†said Abi Clark from the Portway Putters. The winning team, Portway Birdies received a medal each as well as a certificate which were given to every participant. Overall, it was an enjoyable event for both adults and children – one day, maybe one of the children could become the next Tiger Woods!
