Ella, Lydia, Clara, Maddison, Miss Escritt and Miss Sturges, accompanied by two Year 6 girls and Miss Pearson from Knights Enham Junior School, went to Wembley Stadium on Tuesday 31st July to watch Team GB women’s team play Brazil. The tickets had been given to the school in recognition of its work within the Get Set Olympic programme
Excitement was running high as we jumped on the train to Waterloo; the face paints came out and nobody escaped!
Over the bridge to Covent Garden (‘Big Ben, wow!’) and then on the tube to Wembley Park. A packed ground (over 70,000 people!) saw Team GB play brilliantly to won and top their group.
All agreed the day had been ‘awesome’, especially Maddie who celebrated her 16th birthday on the train home! Miss Escritt and Miss Sturges would like to say thank you to all the girls, and Miss Pearson, who made the day one of the best ever! We would also like to wish Team GB all the best of luck in their bid for Olympic gold
