Thirteen Year 11 Sports Leaders gave up their Friday afternoon recently to lead the fourth Year 5 Tri Golf Festival. An annual event which is always very popular!
Eight enthusiastic teams from across the cluster (Kimpton, Portway and Knights Enham) enjoyed a warm up with the putters and chippers, before being expertly led at eight different Tri Golf stations.
Silver Ambassadors Eleanor Roche and Ella Howells coordinated the whole event, being in charge of the stopwatch, whistle, horn and score board.
Lili McLean, Clara Franklin, Ashley Bratten, Abbie Portsmouth, Beth Collyer-Smith, Jess Borley-Thorpe, Sheree Villiers, Kirstie Hunter, Lydia Moulding, Liam Bowman and Jack Healy were in charge of stations, coaching the young players before officiating and scoring.
The afternoon ended with a huge thank you to the Sports Leaders and a ‘Well done!’ to all the competitors before certificates were handed out and medals given. Congratulations to Kimpton ‘Water’ who scored over 500 points and came in the Gold Medal position. They have now been invited to represent Test Valley at the Hampshire Youth Games. Silver medal position was Knights Enham ‘Birdies’ with Portway ‘Drivers’ in Bronze position.
