On Thursday 26th May, eight Year 9 students spent a day at The Lights Theatre fulfilling different roles, gaining new skills to become a dance company.
Sophie Chilcott, Sophie Pitts and Dani Morrell spent the day refining their choreography skills to the theme of the Olympics. Lauren Erskine and Kaylee Jones experimented creating performance hair and make-up, using the core colours of the Olympic rings. Liam Bradbury and Chelsey Renshaw learnt some marketing skills to promote their dance company. Finally, Ashley Fairman honed his technician skills in order to apply appropriate lighting to the dance performance. The day ended with a video montage of the work produced and a performance by the dancers.
Harrow Way’s dance company, now called ‘Class LDK’ aim to bring back the skills learnt to create, promote and perform their own dance piece to the theme of the Olympics later this term.
