Tuesday 29th March saw the first iCandy Design Day. Students from the year 10 CiDA and DiDA courses were set a real life graphic design challenge by local design company iCandy Design. Split into teams, the students had to design and create graphical assets for the Andover Sound website to advertise an upcoming competition. Winning designs stand a chance to be used as actual promotional materials for Andover Sound.
Students benefited enormously from the day learning tips and techniques from graphic design professionals. Many students produced excellent work with prizes going to many students.
Most notable awards were given to Team 6, consisting of Matt Jenkins, Kelly Butler, Katie Trenfield and Kieran Walkham, for the best team effort; and Megan Rolfe, who produced the best individual piece of work and received a digital camera and an offer of 2 weeks work placement in the summer.
