Students and teachers in the art department had a great Culture Vulture day on Friday, 4th March. The focus of the day was Indian art called Mehndi. Some students have created their own Mehndi designs in watercolour on paper, while others have chosen to come closer to the ‘real thing’ and using face paints have created their designs straight onto their hands and arms. Everyone in the art department was working with great focus and the day went so quickly. Some very exited students from Mrs Gibbs’ group have even suggested that ‘We should do this every day , ma’am!’.
We have many talented students but I would like to mention Megan Rolfe, Charlotte Mead and Jonathan Akehurst, who have created and painted many excellent designs onto students’ hands and put a smile on so many faces. A big ‘Thank You’ to Mrs Henderson, our technician for her help and support during the day. To take a look at our fun day and see our enjoyment please click on the thumbnail to view more pictures.
