A cold afternoon at Alton Rugby Club was the venue for the Hampshire Cross Country Championships. All five Harrow Way athletes had qualified for this event last term when they ran in the Mountbatten SSP competition.
First to run for Harrow Way was Finlay Waite who, thoroughly enjoying himself, put in a very determined performance. The three Year 8 girls, Emma Jones, Kiera Hill and Katie Roche were up next. Emma already competes regularly and was able to put in an excellent run to finish in 13th place, her best position to date, and therefore qualify for the Regional Finals on Saturday 26th March. Kiera and Katie ran well with Kiera improving on her position from last year. Although Harry had won the earlier Partnership round, he was sadly unable to complete his race following an injury to his knee.
Well done to all competitors – you were a delight to be with and were a credit to yourselves and your school!
