Year 10/11
Harrow Way 19 – Rookwood 6
This was always going to be a good match as there was only one goal between the two sides the previous year.
A very close first quarter saw, once again, one goal between the two sides with Harrow Way leading 4 goals to 3. Nerves were jangling and adrenaline rushing, but Harrow Way settled down into their rhythm and won the second quarter more convincingly; 9 goals to 4. The difference between the two teams being the sharp centre passes between Elli Roche (C), Steph Jackson (WA) and Lydia Moulding (GA). Lydia was outstanding and was not only consistent with her shooting but so many times made some important interceptions that turned the match around.
Harrow Way dominated the 3rd quarter 17 goals to 4. Our defence really got it together and stopped Rookwood scoring a single goal. Ella Howells (GK), Kathy Murray (GD) and Anna Bazzoni (WD) really stepped up to the mark.
During the final quarter both teams tired considerably and the pace was much slower and very few goals were scored. However, the team had done enough earlier in the game to ensure a win.
