On Wednesday 25th March four Year 7s, Lewis Hatchett, Eleanor Potter, Nayana McGee and Mark Todd set off for Cineworld in Southampton to take part in The Times Spelling Bee – an annual competition in which over 100 schools take part.
The contest was composed of two stages, a knock out round and a quick fire round. All of our competitors did extremely well, however there was some exceptionally tough competition and by the end of play Harrow Way were not placed in the top three. Despite this, good fun was had by all and all the students enjoyed the chance to improve their spelling and, of course, their free popcorn and Times Spelling Bee goody bag.
