Seven selected Year 7 set off on Thursday afternoon to set up a Multi Skills Festival for the Year 1 and 2 class at Appleshaw St. Peter’s CE Primary School. Unable to take part in Harrow Way’s Year 10 Top Link Multi Skill Festival this Friday, the young children were very keen to have one at their own school!
Isis Haywood-Mann, Holly Guiver, Abby Wheeler, Chloe Lister, Ivania Goncalves, Maddie Loftus and Georgina Harris joined in the ‘Bean Game’ warm-up before setting off with their team of four to lead them round eight different activities. They helped the young children to send bean bags and javelins, encouraging them to improve their scores and distance. They helped them to jump in different ways too. Tri golf chippers and putters were also safely used and with great enjoyment. Team work and cooperation were used with the ‘Hoop Game’ and with the very popular ‘Blindfold Challenge’. Some of the Year 2 even tried leading our Year 7s across the obstacles!
All the Venus class children agreed they had had a great afternoon, enjoying the Year 7 leadership and all the activities. Miss Sturges complimented the Year 7 girls who had worked hard and had shown a huge growth in leadership confidence in just one afternoon.
Thank you and well done! You represented yourselves and Harrow Way fantastically!
