The last day of the Spring Term saw sixteen keen U14s from schools across the partnership, turn up at Winchester Rugby Club for some team training and their second competitive match. To the parents and supporters on the side, it was never apparent that the Partnership team had only played together once before; their level of communication and team play was super to see! The match was also friendly and sporting with some of the Partnership team playing for the home team in the second half.
Jonathan Akehurst, playing at number 5, was able to put points on the board with an outstanding solo try. Running from inside the team’s own half he was able to beat many Winchester RFC players to put the ball down under the posts. Six more tries and three conversions by the Partnership team meant that the final score was 41-7 to the Partnership with Winchester converting the final try of the match.
Well done Jonathan!
