During the whole of this Spring Term, six Year 10 Harrow Way Sports Leaders have shown an extremely high level of commitment to volunteering and leadership. Every Tuesday after school, Stephanie Villiers, Grace Howells, Sarah Hartley, Sophie Attmere, Katie Woolf and Lisa Phillimore have set off for Portway Infants to run an after school Tag Rugby Club.
Whatever the weather, they have all arrived at the school, keen and ready to run activities with their enthusiastic group of tag rugby players. Games have been adapted according to whether they are indoors or out, and sessions have evolved during the term.Â
Hannah Maletroit, the Year 1 teacher who supports the leaders at Portway school, has been very impressed. ‘I would like to thank the girls for their effort and commitment to this club. The girls have really grown in confidence which is super to see and I am also impressed by the high level of leadership shown. They are all welcome to return in the Summer Term to help with other clubs if they wish. It would be lovely to have them here again!’
Miss Sturges is also very pleased with the high level of leadership, commitment and responsibility the leaders have shown. They have all been such super ambassadors of Harrow Way School and should be very proud of themselves.
Well done Sports Leaders! Do not forget to get your Leadership passports signed – you all truly deserve it!
