Harrow Way runners performed well at the recent Partnership cross country finals at Charlton. It was a very cold Thursday afternoon but all put 100% effort in. As a result of their efforts, six runners will have the opportunity to go forward to the county championships and represent our Sports’ Partnership.
For the Year 7s, Callum Twigg came tenth in his race to earn his Partnership place. This was followed by Lucy Mellows coming a super second to win a silver medal in the girls’ race. It was a close finish with Lucy giving her all in the final few metres. She is looking forward to running with the winner as part of the same team in the next round. We think they will make a formidable pairing!
Year 8: the boys’ race saw three Harrow Way runners go through to the county finals. Well done to Dean Andrews who ran a great race to cross the line in Bronze medal position! Brandon Thompson and Michael Pearce will also be joining him in the finals. Well done to Ellie Roche in the girls’ race who came a good tenth.
Congratulations to all the runners who took part – it was a super afternoon and you were a credit to our school! Well done to all of you!
