Thirteen Harrow Way girls, all keen and fully kitted out, were ready and eager for their home fixture against Test Valley School last Friday 21st November.
Having been beaten by Harrow Way earlier in the term, the Test Valley team were keen to do better and sent out an older and stronger team. Always sporting, the Harrow Way girls welcomed their visitors and got on with enjoying the match.
Mr Currie joined the spectators in the first half and was impressed with the standard of play, as was Josh Barnett in Year 11. As a GCSE student, he kindly offered to referee the match which he did to a very high standard. Josh thought the team played very well, especially in the second half when the pace picked up even more. He was particularly pleased with the performance of Jess Wilson and awarded her with ‘player of the match’. Her reward was the match ball, kindly donated by Gary Kew, the girls’ coach from Andover Football Club.
Although the team lost 2 – 0, the play was very even and was captained well by Lydia Moulding. The whole team is to be congratulated for their superb effort and sportsmanship. Well done!
Team: Lydia Moulding (Captain), Jess Wilson, Ella Howells, Danny Glendon, Clara Franklin, Annie Brookes, Sian Monk, Phoebe Brennan, Phoebe Williams, Georgina Harris, Charlotte Heaton, Sabrina Newton and Jade Wilson.
