Although we didn’t get up quite so early this morning, getting to breakfast on time was a bit of a struggle. Our first stop was Brie Compte Robert, a typical small French town (with a boulangerie). Armed with another Town Trail quiz the students did their best to decipher the questions and come up with plausible answers but also quickly enough so that they could visit the boulangerie and practise their “Un gateau s’il vous plait”. You can see from the pictures that they all had that down pat! Back on the coach and off to Versailles. Everyone was impressed with the size of the chateau, but not so impressed with the long walk from the bus through the grounds to the gardens. Armed with a bike each we all cycled off in groups to explore the gardens, around the lake and taking in the sights. Alex managed to get closer to the ground than he possibly intended – and gave Mrs Vanderplank an opportunity to open her first aid box. Nothing serious though! After our cycle ride we gave everyone a last opportunity to stock up on presents for home or chocolate for the journey, and were back in plenty of time for the girls to get ready for the disco. A busy evening awaits us all as we also have to pack up ready for an early start. Congratulations to those brave students that tried some authentic French cuisine at dinner – escargots! The evening entertainments laid on catered for all – disco, Karaoke, pool, table tennis inside or the basketball and football courts outside.  The disco ended up more like a sauna – but some good moves were seen (and photographed). A reminder that we are scheduled to arrive at 5.10 pm approx.Â
