Today everyone was up bright and breezy – well, some more bright and breezy than others! It was 7.00am after all! And who wants to be woken up by Miss Escritt?
Despite eating well the night before the students wolfed down their breakfasts and the pain au chocolates were very popular. Only healthy eating here! Really!
Then their big moment arrived … nerves started to jangle as they got booted up and collected their skis, and trudged up the slopes to meet their instructors; their new best friends for the week. First impressions are that they seem a good bunch and speak good English so the children have no excuses for skiing badly! They were then assessed and put into their ability groups. Amazingly for day one, they have all managed to get around the resort a bit and the beginners have seen more of the Les Menuires than just the nursery slopes. Anna decided to have an argument with a chair lift and came second … fortunately Anna wasn’t hurt and neither was the chair lift! Henry hitched a ride on the back of Lewis’ skis for some reason, thinking that Lewis’ would be faster … Guess what? They weren’t!Â
Before dinner, we all walked to the outdoor swimming pool for a dip and a roll in the snow. They all enjoyed the unique experience and returned to the hotel exhilarated and starving hungry.
The general consensus was that it was a great day. Let there be more!
Guess what … It’s snowing!
