Week 1Anton Primary School Year 5s have embarked upon a three week art project with Harrow Way.  The Year 5 class listened very attentively to the PowerPoint presentation on the function of masks and Mexican masks in particular.  They participated very well in the question and answers before discussing facial expressions.  Their mind map showed a wide range and a good understanding of emotions. 

To pinpoint the areas of their faces which best show feeling, the Year 5s worked in pairs.  The first was asked to express a particular emotion whilst the second made a two minute drawing of specific areas of the face.  Next they researched Mexican masks and made collages of their findings for their art books.  They will now produce their own designs in colour, ready to make in paper next week and in clay the following week.Â
