We enjoyed a late breakfast this morning, just as well because we had two false fire alarms at 10.30 pm and 12.30 am last night. Getting 43 children out of bed, most of whom were fast asleep was quite a challenge. Neither of the fire alarms involved our floor so we were able to get back to bed to try to catch up on our sleep very quickly. After breakfast we travelled to Brie Comte Robert, a small local town,  to complete a town trail. We were very pleased to see many of our students asking the locals for help with the questions.Next we travelled to Versailles and had our lunch sitting on the steps overlooking Le Grand Canal. Most of the students then got on bikes and spent a fantastic hour whizzing around the grounds of Versailles – the best bit of the week according to some! The whole group then reassembled for a whistle-stop tour of the Chateau of Versailles. The decor was a little de trop, lots of gold and mirrors but it was an interesting experience for all of us. A short visit to the hypermarket before tea (snails!!) and then the final entertainment – disco, basketball or chilling in the games room – oh and then the packing!!! We have a really early start tomorrow for a planned return by 6.30 pm.
