Day 1: Lands End to Fowey
Daily Distance: 73 miles (should have been 65!)

Conditions: Pleasantly sunny and warm!
This morning we travelled from Penzance to Lands End in the bus. We were all excited but also very nervous! By the time we had sorted the bikes, taken some photos and said hello to other LEJOGers (at least two other groups) it was 10am.
In the first two hours we made great progress, coming very slightly unstuck when Woodsy and Rob took a wrong turning on a rounabout just before Marazion. We were reunited in Marazion (thanks to the wonder of the mobile phone) and continued to our first refuelling stop just before Four Lanes.
From then on it was one disaster to another as we continued to take wrong turning after wronger turning after wrongerest turning. This resulted in an additional 7 miles of extra steep cornish hills that forced Woodsy and Dan to get off their bikes and push on more than one occasion.
Eventually we made it to Mevagissey and from then on it was plain sailing to our base for the night in Tywardreath (just outside Fowey) where we blagged (much needed) showers at the local pub!
