Harrow Way Community School’s Key Stage 4 Presentation Evening took place on Thursday 23rd November.
The Class of 2006 came back to Harrow Way for one more evening on 23rd November to receive their examination certificates and to celebrate their success. The evening was hosted by Mr Currie, Headteacher, and Mrs Burbidge, Chair of Governors. The actor Mark McGann was the guest speaker and presented the prizes. Former student and Hampshire Cricketer, James Tomlinson, presented the Sports prizes.
In addition a number of prestigious awards were presented. The Anne King Shield was awarded to Annemarie Jamieson as the Highest Academic Achiever of 2006 and Louise Cansdale received the Harrow Way Cup as the Best School All-rounder. (see lists for all other awards)
Mark McGann praised the students for their personal achievements across and beyond the curriculum. He stressed that students leaving Harrow Way could feel proud, not only of their academic achievements but of qualities that would set them on the road to success in the future.
The School was delighted to receive sponsorship from the Andover Rotary Club, represented by Rotarian, Clive Brunswick, who awarded the Rotary Prize for ‘Service Above Self’ to Sam Howell. Miss Marion Orwin from the Andover Town Twinning Association was also invited to the ceremony to present the Language prize and certificate to Danielle Warman. Office Depot, new sponsor of the Mathematics awards, was represented by Kim Flynn and Nick Appleby, who presented prizes to Katheryn Binks and Louise Cansdale. Stannah Management Services Ltd also kindly supported this event.
The evening was a wonderful opportunity for all at Harrow Way to celebrate the successes of students and to learn of their chosen education or career paths since leaving school.
