To coincide with her exhibition at The Gallery, Roche Court Sculpture Park, Lisa Milroy held a drawing workshop to focus on a variety of “fast” and “slow” styles. These link to styles she uses in her work to represent the many different ways we look at everyday things.
Harrow Way Art Deptartment was very priveledged to receive an invitation for 8 students to attend, consequently the Year 11Â names were selected by a draw!
On the evening of Monday 2nd October our students, armed with a favourite personal object to draw, participated in 2 hours of fast and slow studies working alongside a total of 35 other KS3/ KS4 and post 16 art students who had travelled from Dorset Wiltshire & Hampshire. They investigated a variety of monochrome media, which gave way to a vast collection of studies which covered the lawns outside the gallery space. The work was both messy, enjoyable and inspiring for all our artists who worked so hard kneeling on the gallery floor!  The students found it inspirational to work alongside such a famous artist in this manner, to be able to discuss the topic with her and to work in such close proximity to Lisa’s paintings in the exhibition.
